It’s so great to see everyone back and into routine! I hope that everyone enjoyed the holidays with family and friends.
We are excited to announce that we have a new Grade 8 teacher! Her name is Sujatha Chintakunta. We call her Miss Sue! Ms. Ramona Ense is now one of our Special Education Resource Teachers! We are also excited to announce that Ms. Elaine Debassige is back! She is teaching Anishinaabemowin to our Kindergarten to Grade 3 classes!
On Friday, January 6, 2023, we will serve all the students pancakes and sausages as a welcome back breakfast! Also, on that day, Senior Kindergarten, Grade 2, Grade 3, Grade 5, Grade 7, and Grade 8 classes will be visiting local offices to wish them a Happy New Year! We call this Boozhooke-ing! It’s so great so see one of our traditions being carried on by our students!
On Tuesday, January 10, 2023 at 1:30 p.m., the students will enjoy a presentation by Quincy Mack. He provides NBA caliber entertainment blended with a powerful message about becoming an “All-Star Student”, by displaying seven character traits – attitude, leadership, love, self-control, teamwork, accountability, and respect.
On Friday, January 13, at 1:00 p.m., the students versus staff hockey game will take place! The students that were selected for the game that got cancelled prior to the holidays will participate in the game. All of the students will be bussed down to the arena to cheer on both teams! The canteen will be open as well.
What a great start to 2023!
