Job Summary:
The Student Administrator will provide essential administrative support to the office operations, assisting with the smooth execution of daily tasks and ensuring efficient workflow. The role will involve handling routine office responsibilities, maintaining organized records, and supporting various internal processes to facilitate the effective functioning of the department.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Data Entry and Record Maintenance: Enter student information into the database, ensuring accuracy and confidentiality. Update records as necessary and assist in maintaining files.
  • Scheduling and Coordination: Assist in scheduling meetings and events for department staff, or community members. Coordinate room bookings and prepare relevant materials for meetings or events.
  • Communication: Respond to inquiries via email and phone, providing necessary guidance or forwarding to the appropriate department. Assist in drafting and distributing newsletters or announcements.
  • Document Management: Organize and file documents, ensuring that all records are stored according to departmental guidelines and easy to retrieve when needed.
  • Event Support: Assist in organizing and preparing for events, such as orientations, workshops, or ceremonies.
  • Other Administrative Tasks: Provide general office support such as photocopying, scanning, and managing office supplies.

Skills Required:

  • Strong organizational and time-management skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
  • Ability to handle sensitive information with discretion.
  • Basic knowledge of database management (preferred but not required).

Eligibility:

  • First Nations secondary and post-secondary students ordinarily resident on reserve, in recognized communities or on community lands

Eligible youth must be legally entitled to work in Canada. Youth refers to persons aged 15 to 30 years at the start of the program’s activities. Eligible youth must be a secondary or post-secondary student in a recognized educational institution and be returning to studies in the next academic session.
